चैत्र मास शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी को कामदा एकादशी कहा जाता है। कामदा एकादशी का व्रत अप्रैल के महीने में मनाया जाता है। जैसा कि नाम से स्पष्ट है, कामदा एकादशी व्रत रखने वाले व्यक्ति की सभी मनोकामनाए पूरी होती है। इस व्रत के रखने से सभी प्रकार के पाप दूर हो जाते हैं। कहा जाता है, यह एकादशी मनोवांछित फल देती है जैसे अग्नि लकड़ी को जलाती है ठीक उसी प्रकार यह व्रत व्यक्ति के सभी पापों को जला देता है। इस व्रत के गुण से स्त्रियों को संतान के लिए गर्भ धारण करने में मदद मिलती हैं और यहाँ तक माना जाता है कि व्रत का पालन करने वाले व्यक्ति को मृत्यु के बाद स्वर्ग में स्थान मिलता है।


कामदा एकादशी का महत्व:

कामदा एकादशी हिंदू वर्ष की पहली एकादशी है, जो इसे सभी एकादशी अनुष्ठानों में सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय बनाती है। कामदा एकादशी की महानता का वर्णन कई हिंदू धार्मिक ग्रंथों और पुराणों जैसे 'वराह पुराण' आदि में भी किया गया है। महाभारत में, श्रीकृष्ण ने पांडव राजा युधिष्ठिर को कामदा एकादशी के गुण और लाभ के बारे में बताया है। कामदा एकादशी व्रत व्यक्ति को अपनी अच्छाइयों को पुनः प्राप्त करने और उनमे नव परिवर्तन लाने में सहायक है। यह भक्तों और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों पर लगे सभी श्रापों से मुक्ति दिलाता है। यहां तक ​​कि सबसे जघन्य पाप जैसे ब्राह्मण की हत्या तक को क्षमा किया जा सकता है यदि कोई व्यक्ति पूरी प्रतिबद्धता व् समर्पण के साथ कामदा एकादशी का व्रत रखता है तो। यह भी मान्यता है कि कामदा एकादशी का व्रत रखने से संतानहीन दंपतियों को संतान सुख का आशीर्वाद मिलता है। इस पवित्र व्रत का पालन करने वाले लोग जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र से भी मुक्त हो जाते है और अंततः अपने आराध्य भगवान विष्णु के निज निवास वैकुंठ तक पहुंच जाते है।

 

कामदा एकादशी व्रत कथा

पुंडारिका नाम का एक राजा था, जो भोगनीपुर नाम के एक शहर पर राज करता था। उनका खजाना सोने और चांदी से भरा था। वहाँ, कई अप्सराएँ और गन्धर्व निवास करते थे। यहां ललित और ललिता नामक एक दंपति रहते थे, जो बहुत अमीर थे और वे एक-दूसरे से बहुत प्यार करते थे। दोनों अलग-अलग रहने पर चिंतित हो जाते थे, यहाँ तक कि थोड़ी देर के लिए भी दूर जाना हो तो भी।

एक बार राजा पुंडारिका एक सभा में गए। यहीं पर इस सभा में ललित गंधर्व भी गा रहे थे। उनकी प्रेमिका, ललिता मौजूद नहीं थी। ललित उसे याद करने लगे और अपनी लय खो बैठे। इस पर, राजा पुंडारिका ने क्रोधित होकर उसे श्राप दे दिया और वह एक राक्षस बन गए।

श्राप से, ललित गंधर्व एक भयंकर दानव में बदल गए। उनका चेहरा भयानक हो गया। सूरज और चाँद की तरह लाल आँखें। उनके बाल किसी पहाड़ पर पेड़ों की तरह लग रहे थे। उनके शरीर का विस्तार हुआ। उन्हे अपनी गलती के लिए दर्द और सजा का सामना करना पड़ा।

अपने पति की हालत देखकर ललिता बहुत परेशान हो गई। वह अपने पति की स्वतंत्रता के लिए उपाय सोचने लगी। एक बार अपने पति को ढूंढते हुए, वह विंध्याचल पर्वत पर पहुंची। उसने उस स्थान पर ऋषि का आश्रम देखा। जल्द ही वह वहाँ गई और ऋषि से मदद की गुहार लगाई।

उसकी ओर देखते हुए, ऋषि ने उससे उसका नाम और यात्रा के पीछे का कारण पूछा। ललिता ने उत्तर दिया “हे ऋषि! मैं एक गंधर्व कन्या, ललिता हूँ। राजा पुंडारिका के श्राप से मेरे प्रेमी ललित दानव में बदल गए है। मैं वास्तव में परेशान हूं। मुझे अपने पति के उद्धार का मार्ग बताइए।

इस पर, ऋषि ने उन्हें शुक्ल पक्ष की चैत्र मास की कामदा एकादशी पर व्रत का पालन करने के लिए कहा। इससे उसके पति श्राप से मुक्त हो जायेंगे। इसलिए ललिता ने खुशी-खुशी व्रत का पालन किया। द्वादशी (एकादशी के एक दिन बाद), उसने अपने पति को ब्राह्मणों के साथ भोजन कराया।

उसने भगवान् की नित्य पूजा की और फलस्वरूप इस व्रत का लाभ ललिता की इच्छा अनुसार उसके पति को मिला और वह श्राप से मुक्त हो गए। धीरे धीरे उसका पति अपने मूल रूप में आ गया।

 

कामदा एकादशी व्रत विधि

इस व्रत का पालन करने वाले व्यक्ति को भोजन में जौ, गेहूं और मूंग की दाल आदि का सेवन नहीं करना चाहिए, दशमी (एकादशी से एक दिन पहले) पर। भोजन में नमक के उपयोग से बचना चाहिए और पालनकर्ता को दशमी तिथि को जमीन पर सोना चाहिए । इस व्रत की अवधि 24 घंटे की होती है और दशमी से ही इस व्रत के नियमों का पालन किया जाता है।

इस व्रत के पालन के लिए, व्यक्ति को सुबह जल्दी उठकर स्नान करना चाहिए। स्नान के लिए तिल और आंवले का पेस्ट इस्तेमाल किया जाना चाहिए। इसके बाद भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करें। पूजा करने के लिए, सबसे पहले, अनाज रखा जाता है। इस पर मिट्टी या तांबे का एक कलश रखा जाता है। कलश को लाल रंग के कपड़े से बांधा जाता है और अगरबत्ती, दीपक आदि से पूजा की जाती है।

In the Mahabharata, Sri Krishna tells the Pandava king Yudhishthira about the virtues and benefits of Kamada Ekadashi. Fasting Kamada Ekadashi helps a person to regain his goodness and bring changes in them. It frees devotees and all those curses on their family members. Even the most heinous sins such as killing a Brahmin can be forgiven if a person observes the fast of Kamada Ekadashi with full commitment and dedication. It is also believed that by observing the fast of Kamada Ekadashi fast, childless couples get the blessings of child happiness. People who observe this holy fast are also freed from the cycle of birth and death and eventually reach the adorable Vaikuntha of Lord Vishnu.

 

Kamada Ekadashi fast story

There was a king named Pundarika, who ruled a city named Bhoganipur. His treasure was filled with gold and silver. There, many Apsaras and Gandharvas resided. There lived a couple named Lalit and Lalitha, who were very rich and loved each other very much. Both used to get worried about living separately, even going away for a while.

Once, King Pundarika went to an assembly with Gandharavas. Lalit Gandharva was also singing with him here. His girlfriend, Lalitha, was not present. Lalit began to miss him and lost his rhythm. At this, the king became angry and cursed him and he became a demon.

By curse, Lalit Gandharva turned into a terrible demon. His face turned terrible. Red eyes like sun and moon. His hair looked like trees on a mountain. His body expanded. He faced pain and punishment for his mistake.

Lalita got very upset after seeing her husband's condition. She started thinking of a solution for her husband's independence. Once finding her husband, she reached Vindhyachal mountain. He saw the sage's ashram at that place. Soon she went there and pleaded with Rishi for help.

Looking towards her, the sage asks her her name and reason behind the journey. Lalita replied, "O sage! I am a Gandharva girl, Lalita. With the curse of King Pundarika, he turned into a demon. I'm really upset. Tell me the path of your husband's salvation.

At this, the sage asked him to observe the fast on Kamada Ekadashi of the Chaitra month of Shukla Paksha. This will free her husband from curse. Therefore, Lalita happily followed the fast. Dwadashi (one day after Ekadashi), she fed her husband with Brahmins.

He worshiped God constantly and consequently, his husband got the benefit of this fast according to his wife's wish and he was free from curse. Gradually her husband regained his original form.

 

Kamada Ekadashi fasting method

A person observing this fast should not consume barley, wheat and moong dal etc. in food, on Dashami (one day before Ekadashi). The use of salt in food should be avoided and the follower should sleep on the ground on Dashami Tithi. The duration of this fast is 24 hours and the rules of this fast are followed from Dashami.

To observe this fast, one should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Sesame and gooseberry paste should be used for bathing. After this, worship Lord Vishnu. To perform the puja, first of all, grains are kept. A vase of clay or copper is placed on it. The urn is tied with a red cloth and worshiped with incense sticks, lamps etc.
