The story behind Rishi Panchami

A very big religious Brahmin lived in the country of Vidarbha. His wife was Good and sound, named Susheela. The Brahmin had two children, a son and a daughter. When she married, she married the girl with the groom of the same clan. A few days later, she was widowed by chance. Unhappy Brahmins started living with the girl in a hut on the banks of the Ganges.

One day a Brahmin girl was sleeping that her body was filled with insects. Kanya told the whole thing to her mother. Mother asked her husband to say everything - Prannath! What is the reason for my sadhvi girl getting this type of diseases?

The Brahmin discovered this dialogue through meditation and said - This girl was a Brahmin even in her previous birth and touched the vessel at the time of menstruation and did not engage in religious activities and never fasted on Rishi Panchami. He did not worship. Even in this birth, this sage did not observe Panchami's fast. For this reason, there are insects in its body.

According to the Scriptures it is believed that in menstruation, women are impure like Chandalini on the first day, Brahmaghatini on the second day and Dhobin on the third day. After bathing on the fourth day, she becomes pure. If even with this serene heart, follow the fast of Rishi Panchami, then all its sufferings will go away and in the next life you will get unbroken good fortune.
