Sheetla Ashtami~शीतला अष्टमी


शीतला अष्टमी को 'बसोड़ा पूजा' भी कहा जाता है और यह देवी शीतला के भक्तो के लिए एक प्रसिद्ध हिंदू उत्सव है। यह पर्व कृष्ण पक्ष के अष्टमी ’(8 वें दिन)‘ पर चैत्र के हिंदू महीने के दौरान मनाया जाता है। यह ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर में मध्य मार्च से अप्रैल तक लंबे खंड के बीच पड़ता है। शीतला अष्टमी को होली के रंगीन उत्सव के आठ दिनों बाद बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। लेकिन कुछ समुदायों में यह होली के बाद आने वाले पहले गुरुवार या सोमवार को मनाया जाता है। साथ ही कुछ जिलों में, शीतला अष्टमी हर महीने कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी को मनाई जाती है, लेकिन इन सब में, चैत्र कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय है।

शीतला अष्टमी का त्यौहार राजस्थान, गुजरात और उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे उत्तर भारतीय राज्यों में प्रसिद्ध हैं। राजस्थान में शीतला अष्टमी उत्सव को असाधारण ऊर्जा व् उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है। इस मौके पर एक विशाल मेले का आयोजन किया जाता है और कई संगीत कार्यक्रमों और खेलों का भी मंचन किया जाता है। श्रद्धालु इस त्यौहार को आस्था और समर्पण के साथ मनाते हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस शुभ दिन उपवास रखने से आपके परिवार के सदस्यों व् जिसके लिए आपने व्रत रखा है,  इस व्रत के प्रभाव से वे कई बीमारियों से बच जायंगे।


शीतला अष्टमी

शीतला माता की पूजा के दिन घर में चूल्हा नहीं जलाया जाता है। चैत्र, वैशाख, ज्येष्ठ और आषाढ़ के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी शीतला देवी की पूजा के लिए जानी जाती है। इसलिए इस दिन को शीतलाष्टमी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वर्तमान समय में, शीतला माता की पूजा स्वच्छता की प्रेरणा के कारण काफी महत्वपूर्ण है।

ऐसा माना जाता है कि देवी शीतला की पूजा करने से पर्यावरण को साफ़ सुथरा रखने और उसकी सौंदर्यता बनायें रखने में मदद मिलती है और मौसमी परिवर्तनों के संकेत मौसम में कई बदलाव लाते हैं और इन मौसमी परिवर्तनों से बचने के लिए स्वच्छता का ध्यान रखना अति आवश्यक है और इस उपलक्ष्य में माता की आराधना हमें स्वच्छता रखने और दुसरो को भी साफ़ सफाई रखने की प्रेरणा देती है। इसलिए, मां शीतला की पूजा करने का विधान पूरी तरह से महत्वपूर्ण और उचित समय पर आता है।

 

उत्सव से जुड़ी पौराणिक कथा

एक बार इंद्रलूम्ना नाम का एक राजा था जो हस्तिनापुर पर राज करता था। उसकी एक पुत्री थी जिसका नाम शुभकारी थी, उसका विवाह एक राजकुमार, जिसका नाम गुनवन था उससे हुआ। एक दिन, राजा ने उन्हें शीतला अष्टमी पूजा मनाने के लिए आमंत्रित किया। दंपति ने श्रद्धा और भक्तिभाव के साथ पूजा की, और राजकुमारी शुभकारी ने भी देवी के लिए उपवास रखा। उनके समर्पण से प्रसन्न होकर, देवी शीतला उनके सामने प्रकट हुईं और राजकुमारी शुभाकारी को विशेष शक्तियां प्रदान कीं। वापस जाते समय, राजकुमारी ने एक परिवार को एक पुजारी की मौत पर दुखी देखा। उनके दुःख से दुखी होकर राजकुमारी ने अपनी शक्तियों का उपयोग पुजारी को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए किया। यह देखकर, स्थानीय लोगों को देवी शीतला की शक्ति का एहसास हुआ, और वे भी हर साल अष्टमी व्रत का पालन करने लगे।

 

शीतला अष्टमी के दौरान अनुष्ठान

हिंदू मान्यताओं के अनुसार, लोग इस दिन न तो आग जलाते हैं और न ही कुछ पकाते हैं। बल्कि, वे शीतला अष्टमी के दिन इसका सेवन करने के उद्देश्य से एक दिन पहले भोजन पकाते हैं।

लोग सुबह जल्दी उठते हैं और सूर्योदय से पहले ठंडे पानी से स्नान करते हैं। स्नान करने के बाद, भक्तों को देवता के मंदिर में जाने और विभिन्न अनुष्ठानों को करने की अनुमति होती है।

माता को कई तरह के भोग अर्पित किये जाते हैं जैसे दही, राबड़ी, गुड़ और कई अन्य आवश्यक चीजें। इसके पश्चात, भक्त बुजुर्ग लोगों से आशीर्वाद लेते हैं।

देवी को भोग अर्पित करने के बाद बचा हुआ भोजन भक्तों द्वारा पवित्र भोजन (प्रसाद) के रूप में पूरे दिन खाया जाता है। विभिन्न क्षेत्रीय क्षेत्रों में, इसे लोकप्रिय रूप से 'बसोड़ा' कहा जाता है।

आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के लिए, भक्तो को भोजन गरीबों और जरूरतमंद को देना चाहिए।

अच्छे स्वास्थ्य का आशीर्वाद पाने और किसी भी नकारात्मक ऊर्जा से छुटकारा पाने के लिए भक्त इस दिन व्रत भी रखते हैं।

भक्त शीतला अष्टमी के दिन शीतलाष्टक का पाठ करते है, ताकि माता की कृपा दृष्टि उन पर बनी रहे।

Devotees celebrate this festival with faith and dedication. It is believed that by keeping fast on this auspicious day, your family members and for whom you have fasted, they will be saved from many diseases due to the effect of this fast.

 

Sheetla Ashtami

The stove is not lit in the house on the day of worship of Sheetla Mata. Ashtami of the Krishna side of Chaitra, Vaishakh, Jyeshtha and Ashada is known for worshiping the goddess Sheetla. Therefore, this day is also known as Sheetlashtami. At the present time, worship of Sheetla Mata is quite important due to the motivation of cleanliness.

It is believed that worshiping Goddess Sheetla helps to keep the environment clean and maintain its beauty and the signs of seasonal changes bring many changes in the weather and it is very important to take care of hygiene to avoid these seasonal changes. And worship of Mother on this occasion inspires us to keep cleanliness and cleanliness to others. Mythology Related to Celebration

Once there was a king named Indralumna who ruled over Hastinapur. He had a daughter named Shubhakari, married to a prince named Gunvan. One day, the king invited him to celebrate Sheetla Ashtami Puja. The couple worshiped with reverence and devotion, and Princess Shubhakari also fasted for the goddess. Pleased with her dedication, Devi Shitala appeared to him and bestowed special powers to Princess Shubhakari. On the way back, the princess sees a family grieving over the death of a priest. Saddened by their grief, the princess used her powers to revive the priest. Seeing this, the local people realized the power of Goddess Sheetla, and they also started observing Ashtami fast every year.

 

Rituals During Sheetla Ashtami

According to Hindu beliefs, people neither light a fire nor cook anything on this day. Rather, they cook food a day in advance to consume it on Sheetla Ashtami.

People wake up early in the morning and bathe in cold water before sunrise. After bathing, devotees are allowed to visit the deity's temple and perform various rituals.

Many types of bhog are offered to the mother such as curd, rabri, guru and many other essential things. After this, devotees take blessings from the elderly people.

The food left over after being offered to the Goddess is eaten by the devotees throughout the day as a holy meal (Prasad). In various regional areas, it is popularly referred to as 'Basoda'.

To get blessings, devotees should give food to the poor and needy.

Devotees keep fast on this day to get blessings of good health and to get rid of any negative energy.

Devotees recite Sheetlashtak on the day of Sheetla Ashtami, so that the grace of mother may remain on them.
