Vijaya Ekadashi~विजया एकादशी


विजया एकादशी फरवरी - मार्च अर्थात चैत्र में कृष्ण पक्ष के चन्द्रमा के पिघलने की अवधि के दौरान मनाई जाती है। इस एकादशी का महानता स्कंद पुराण में संदर्भित है और विजया एकादशी का पालन करने से किए गए व्यक्ति को उसके सभी पापों से मुक्ति मिलती है और जीत हासिल करने की तरफ अग्रसर होने में मदद मिलती है।


विजया एकादशी का महत्व

एकादशी का व्रत सभी व्रतों में सबसे प्राचीन व् प्रमुख माना जाता है। पद्म पुराण के अनुसार, स्वयं महादेव ने नारद जी को उपदेश देते हुए कहा, 'एकादशी एक महान पुण्य है।' ऐसा कहा जाता है कि जो इंसान विजया एकादशी के व्रत का पालन करता है, वह अपने पूर्वजों और पूर्वजों की कुयोनी को स्वर्ग में त्याग देता है। साथ ही व्रत पालनकर्ता को हर कार्य में सफलता मिलती है और इस जन्म के पापों से मुक्ति मिलती है।

 

विजया एकादशी व्रत कथा

ऐसा माना जाता है कि त्रेता युग में, जब भगवान श्री राम लंका पर चढ़ाई करने के लिए समुद्र तट पर पहुँचे, मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम ने समुद्र देवता को रास्ता देने की प्रार्थना की, लेकिन समुद्र देवता ने श्री राम को लंका जाने का मार्ग नहीं दिया, तब श्री राम ने विधिपूर्वक उनका पूजन किया। विजया एकादशी का व्रत वकदालभ्य मुनि की अनुमति के अनुसार, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप समुद्र ने भगवान राम को जन्म दिया। इसके साथ ही, विजया एकादशी का व्रत रावण पर विजय दिलाने में सहायक सिद्ध हुआ और तब से इस तिथि को विजया एकादशी के रूप में जाना जाता है।

 

विजया एकादशी के दौरान अनुष्ठान

विजया एकादशी व्रत, एकादशी की सुबह से आरम्भ होता है और द्वादशी के सूर्योदय के बाद पूर्ण होता है। ऐसे कई भक्त हैं, जो सूर्यास्त से पहले सात्विक भोजन ’का सेवन करके, दसवें दिन से अपना व्रत शुरू करते हैं। इस दिन किसी भी प्रकार के अनाज, दाल, और चावल का सेवन करना वर्जित होता है।

भक्त सूर्योदय से पहले उठते हैं और स्नान करने के पश्चात पूजा अर्चना करते हैं और ब्रह्म मुहूर्त में भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करते हैं। सुबह की रस्में पूरी होने के बाद, श्रद्धालु माता एकादशी की आरधना करते हैं और उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करते हैं।

भक्त भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करते हैं और इसके उपरान्त देवता की प्रतिमा को तुलसी के पत्ते, अगरबत्ती, सुपारी और नारियल अर्पित करते हैं।

देवताओं को प्रसन्न करने और उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के लिए एक विशेष भोग निर्मित किया जाता है। इस दिन भक्ति गीतों के साथ-साथ वैदिक मंत्रों का पाठ करना अत्यंत शुभ और मंगलकारी होता है।

भक्तों को जरुरतमंदों, गरीबों की मदद करनी चाहिए क्योंकि इस दिन किया गया कोई भी पुण्य अत्यधिक फलदायक साबित हो सकता है। श्रद्धालु अपनी क्षमता के अनुसार कपड़े, पैसे, भोजन और कई अन्य आवश्यक चीजें दान कर सकते हैं।

'विष्णु सहस्रनाम' का पाठ इस दिन अत्यधिक शुभ माना जाता है।

 





Vijaya Ekadashi is celebrated during the period of melting of the moon of Krishna Paksha in February - March i.e. Chaitra. The greatness of this Ekadashi is referenced in the Skanda Purana and following the Vijaya Ekadashi helps a person to get rid of all his sins and move towards achieving victory.

 

Importance of Vijaya Ekadashi

The fast of Ekadashi is considered to be the oldest and most prominent among all the fasts. According to the Padma Purana, Mahadev himself preached to Narada ji and said, 'Ekadashi is a great virtue.' It is said that a person who observes the fast of Vijaya Ekadashi sacrifices his ancestors and the ancestors' Kuyoni in heaven. Also, the fast observer gets success in every task and gets freedom from the sins of this birth.

It is believed that in Treta Yuga, when Lord Sri Rama reached the beach to climb Lanka, Maryada Purushottam prayed to give way to the sea god, but the sea god did not give Sri Rama a path to Lanka, Then Shri Rama worshiped him methodically. The fast of Vijaya Ekadashi as per the permission of Vakdalabhya Muni, as a result of which the sea gave birth to Lord Rama. Along with this, the fast of Vijaya Ekadashi proved to be helpful in conquering Ravana and since then this date is known as Vijaya Ekadashi.

 

Rituals During Vijaya Ekadashi

The Vijaya Ekadashi fast commences from the morning of Ekadashi and ends after sunrise of Dwadashi. There are many devotees, who start their fast from the tenth day, after consuming 'satvik food' before sunset. On this day, it is forbidden to eat any type of cereals, pulses, and rice.

Devotees get up before sunrise and offer prayers after bathing and worship Lord Vishnu in Brahma Muhurta. After the morning rituals are completed, the devotees perform Mata Ekadashi and receive their blessings.

Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and then offer basil leaves, incense sticks, betel nuts and coconut to the idol of the deity.

A special bhog is made to please the gods and to get their blessings. Reciting Vedic mantras along with devotional songs on this day is extremely auspicious and Important.

Devotees should help the needy, the poor, because any virtue done on this day can prove to be highly fruitful. Devotees can donate clothes, money, food and many other essential things as per their capacity.

The recitation of ‘Vishnu Sahasranama’ is considered highly auspicious on this day.
