श्रावण मास का पारंपरिक महीना विशेष रूप से महिलाओं के लिए बहुत ही शुभ माना जाता है। महिलाएं मंगलवार को प्रसिद्ध मंगलगौरी व्रत रखती हैं और इस माह के दौरान शुक्रवार को महालक्ष्मी पूजा भी करते हैं। वरालक्ष्मी व्रतम उन सभी के त्यौहारों में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है। श्रावण मास में यह व्रत शुक्रवार को पूर्णिमा के दिन रखा रखा जाता है। ऐसी मान्यता है कि देवी लक्ष्मी की आरधना से घर में स्वास्थ्य, धन और समृद्धि आती है। देवी वरलक्ष्मी के लिए पूजा (एक व्रतम के रूप में) करना उन लोगों के लिए वरदान होगा जो भगवान् की भक्ति में लीन रहते हैं। जो लोग उस दिन देवी का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के लिए व्रतम करने में असफल रहते हैं, वे श्रावण मास के किसी अन्य शुक्रवार को ऐसा कर सकते हैं। यह पूजा महिलाओं द्वारा उनकी जाति और पंथ के भेदभाव के बिना की जाती है। यह 'महिला उत्सव' दक्षिणी भारत में, विशेष रूप से आंध्र प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु और कर्नाटक के कुछ हिस्सों में ज्यादा लोकप्रिय है व् नवविवाहित महिलाओं का इस अवसर पर पूजा करना अत्यंत शुभ माना जाता है।

वरलक्ष्मी नाम की व्याख्या दो तरीकों से की जा सकती है। एक अर्थ में, वरलक्ष्मी वह है जो वरदान देती है। दूसरे में, वह देवी जिसे घर में आमंत्रित किया जाता है और सम्मानित किया जाता है। वरालक्ष्मी पूजा करने से विभिन्न प्रकार के लाभों की प्राप्ति होती है जिसमे कि धन (पैसा), धन्यम (लाभ या भोजन), आरोग्यम (स्वास्थ्य), संपत (संपत्ति), संतशांतिम (पुण्य संतान) और धीरग सौमंगलम (पति की दीर्घायु) आते है।

 

वरलक्ष्मी व्रतम कथा

एक दिन जब भगवान् शिव कैलाश गिरि पर विश्राम कर रहे थे, देवी पार्वती ने उनसे मिलने गयी और उनसे एक ऐसा व्रत बताने के लिए कहा जो धन और समृद्धि प्रदान करता हो। प्रभु उसे बताते हैं कि वरलक्ष्मी व्रतम करने से महिलाओं के जीवन में सौभाग्य का आगमन होगा। वह कहानी सुनाते है और देवी पार्वती को व्रत करने की प्रक्रिया समझाते है। यह व्रत शुक्रवार को किया जाता है जो श्रावण मास में शुक्ल पक्ष में पूर्णिमा से पहले आता है।

यह कहानी विदर्भ राज्य में स्थित कुंडीनगरम नामक एक सुंदर शहर में घटित होती है। उस कुंडीनगरम शहर में देवी लक्ष्मी, चारुमथी की भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर उसे एक सपने में आकर बताती हैं और उन्हें अपनी इच्छाओं को पूरा करने में सक्षम बनाने के लिए व्रत करने का निर्देश देती है। चारुमथी जागती है और अपने पति को सपने के बारे में बताती है। चारुमथी कुछ पड़ोस की महिलाओं के साथ काफी समय तक स्नान करने के पश्चात एक मंडप तैयार करती है और वरालक्ष्मी देवी को आमंत्रित करती है। वह अन्य महिलाओं के साथ-साथ निम्नलिखित नारे को पूरी आस्था और भक्ति के साथ पढ़ती है।


लक्ष्मी क्षीरसमुद्र रजत्तनम श्री रंगधामेसरेवम् |

दशबुद्ध समस्थ देवानितं लोमिका गहनम् | |

श्री मन्मदा कटाक्ष लब्धिभिमत ब्रह्मेन्द्र गंगाधरम् |

त्वामत्र्यम्लोक्यकुंभुम्नेम् ससीजवन्दमुकुन्दं प्रियम | |

 

फिर उसने दाहिने हाथ में नौ धागे पहने और देवी लक्ष्मी को निवेदन प्रदान किया। पहले प्रहर के पूरा होने पर, उसने सुना कि उसे गज्जेलु, अंडेलु और अन्य गहने मिले। दूसरे प्रहर में, उसने अपने हाथों में नवरत्नों से बने कंकणम पाए। तीसरे प्रहर के पूरा होने पर, उन्हें अपार धन मिला इसके उपरांत चारुमथी ब्राह्मण पुजारियों को ताम्बूलम प्रदान करती हैं और रिश्तेदारों को व्रत प्रसाद वितरित करती हैं व् अपना खुशहाल जीवन व्यतीत करती हैं। तब से, हिंदू महिलाएं आज तक अत्यंत श्रद्धा और विश्वास के साथ इस व्रत को रखती हैं |

 

वरलक्ष्मी व्रतम प्रक्रिया या अनुष्ठान

यह व्रत पुरुष और महिलाएं दोनों कर सकते हैं लेकिन यह व्रत आम तौर पर परिवार की महिलाओं द्वारा देखा जाता हैं, जो अपने परिवार के सदस्यों की भलाई के लिए व् भगवान् का आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए व्रत का पालन करती हैं।

1. इस शुभ अवसर पर, महिलाएं जल्दी उठती हैं, अनुष्ठान व्रत का पालन करती हैं और वरलक्ष्मी पूजा करती हैं, जिसमें वे देवी को ताजी मिठाई और फूल चढ़ायें जाते हैं।

2. वरलक्ष्मी पूजा का पालन करने वाली महिलाएं कुछ खाद्य पदार्थों को खाने से रोकती हैं जो एक क्षेत्र से दूसरे क्षेत्र में भिन्न हो सकते हैं।

3. एक कलश या पीतल के बर्तन (देवता का प्रतिनिधित्व) को एक साड़ी के साथ लपेटा और सजाया जाता है। एक स्वस्तिक चिन्ह कुमकुम और चंदन के लेप से तैयार किया जाता है। कलश के बर्तन को कच्चे चावल या पानी, सिक्कों, पांच अलग-अलग प्रकार के पत्तों और सुपारी से भरा जाता है।

4. अंत में, कुछ आम के पत्तों को कलश के मुंह पर रखा जाता है, और एक नारियल जिसे हल्दी के साथ उतारा जाता है, का उपयोग कलश के मुंह को बंद करने के लिए किया जाता है। वरलक्ष्मी पूजा के दौरान एक पवित्र धागा जो बांधा जाता है, उसे डोरक कहते है।

7. अगले दिन, घर के चारों ओर कलश से पानी छिड़का जाता है। यदि कलश में चावल के दाने एक घटक थे, तो अगले दिन परिवार के लिए चावल का भोजन या प्रसाद तैयार करने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है।

 





The traditional month of Shravan month is considered very auspicious especially for Ladies. Women observe the famous Mangalgauri fast on Tuesday and also perform Mahalakshmi Puja on Fridays during this month. Varalakshmi Vratam is the most important of them all. In the month of Shravan, this fast is kept on full moon day on Friday. It is believed that the worship of Goddess Lakshmi brings health, wealth and prosperity to the house. Worshiping (as a vratam) for Goddess Varalakshmi will be a boon for those who live in devotion to God. Those who fail to fast on that day to get the blessings of the Goddess, can do so on any other Friday of Shravan month. This puja is performed by women without any discrimination of their caste and creed. This 'women festival' is more popular in Southern India, especially in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka and it is considered extremely auspicious to worship newly married women on this occasion.

The name Varalakshmi can be interpreted in two ways. In one sense, Varalakshmi is the one who grants the boon. In another, the goddess who is invited to the house and honored. Worshiping Varalakshmi gives various types of benefits, which include Dhan (money), Dhanyam (benefit or food), Arogyam (health), Sampat (wealth), Santashantim (virtuous child) and Dheerag Saumangalam (long life of husband). is.

 

Vralakshmi Vratam Story

One day while Lord Shiva was resting on Kailash Giri, Goddess Parvati went to meet him and asked him to tell a vow that provides wealth and prosperity. Prabhu tells her that doing Vralakshmi Vratam will bring good luck in the lives of women. He narrates the story and explains the process of fasting Goddess Parvati. This fast is performed on Friday which comes before the full moon in the Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan.

The story takes place in a beautiful city called Kundinagaram located in the state of Vidarbha. In that Kundinagaram city, Goddess Lakshmi, delighted by her devotion to Charumathi, tells her to come in a dream and instructs her to fast to enable her to fulfill her wishes. Charumathi wakes up and tells her husband about the dream. Charumathi prepares a pavilion after taking a long bath with a few women from the neighborhood and invites Varalakshmi Devi. She recites the following slogans with full faith and devotion along with other women.

Vralakshmi Vratam Process or Ritual

This fast can be performed by both men and women but this fast is generally observed by the women of the family, who observe the fast to seek God's blessings for the good of their family members.

1. On this auspicious occasion, women get up early, observe ritual fasts and perform Varalakshmi Puja, in which they offer fresh sweets and flowers to the goddess.

2. Women who follow Varalakshmi Puja are prohibited from eating certain foods which may vary from one region to another.

3. A kalash or brass vessel (representing the deity) is wrapped and decorated with a sari. A swastika symbol is prepared with a coat of kumkum and sandalwood. The pot of kalash is filled with raw rice or water, coins, five different types of leaves and betel nut.

4. Finally, some mango leaves are placed on the mouth of the urn, and a coconut which is lowered with turmeric is used to close the mouth of the urn. A sacred thread that is tied during Varalakshmi Puja is called Dork.

5. The sweets and offerings placed before the deity are known as Vayana.

6. In the evening, there is aarti of the goddess.

7. The next day, water is sprinkled around the house from the urn. If rice grains were an ingredient in the kalash, then the next day rice is used to prepare food or prasadam for the family.
