This is the eight day of the Shardiya Navratri. It is a important legislation to worship Goddess Maha Gauri. Goddess Durga is also known as a better half of Lord Shiva and the mother of Lord Ganesha. Maa Durga is the source of infallible power. To Worship Goddess Durga men kind can get riddance from his lifelong sin and misdeeds.
Maha Gauri is seated on the back of a Taurus, as it is the vehicle of goddess. She has the moon crown on her head, and hold Shankh, Chakra, Dhanush and Bann in her four beautiful hands. She is Bhagvati Maha Gauri.
Maa Durga is also known as Devi Annpoorna. Devi Annpoorna is the goddess of farming and agriculture. It is believed that she is the savior and protctor of foodgrains and farmland.
There is also a custom of Annakoot Pooja or Kanya Poojan. Some people do kanya poojan on the ninth day (Navmi) of the Navratri, but it is better to do it on Eight Day (Ashtami). According to the celebration method little girls are served food, offer them gifts and worshiped as Maha Gauri. So that Mahagauri blessed us and fulfil all our wishes.
It is believed that on transformation time between Ashtami and Navmi goddess Durga manifest her power and blessings on the earth, so a special worship is to perform. It is known as Sandhyapooja of Maa Chamunda.
The person should perform worship with whole rituals after taking bath. The statue should be dressed well and equipped with traditional armature. There should have a golden or silver umbrella (chhatra) on the top of devi statue.
